Hero/Heroine

Gargoyles sit in stone letting winds groan
Water flows through their teeth to the dust
Turning on unheeded seasons never atone
All to oblivion sinks in a slip-stream of rust

This duality nourishes both predator and prey
The sun burns hotter and the waters rise
Face the day to learn the lessons of eternity
Temper your soul with a fire beyond lies

Love is the spiral beginning and the end
With fluent touching we will heal all pain
That we must transmute to transcend
This waiting game we may yet only gain

Many lifetimes pivot in your heart’s talisman
One current runs straight and true
If you make yourself a soul stable catamaran
Surely the only hero/heroine is you!
