~ ~ ~ 2014 ~ ~ ~

Shall we jest as we fall
Half-a-moon through
Bare branches enthrall
As summer apples flew?

Gone the fruit I knew
Now red stains on white
All fondness felt rude
Regret in winter blight

In trampled sweetness
Now in freezing whiteout
As swords of ice bless
Like the fate of Lazarus

For the clarity of what we want
Obscured by labyrinths of stone
A tiny creature we are thrown
Every act of choice a taunt

Hope as ink wasted on curlicues
Still i see us follow worn fevers
Around our record of fortitude
Stuck needles I long to lever

Where inward a lens divine in us waits
A focus correction to our solar territory
Widen the field of view as mystic gates
Magnify us in Love’s highest observatory

  1. Originally this particular poem seemed to produce ideologies reminiscent of Snow White (‘red stains on white’, reference towards fruit, etc), but then it transformed into quite an interwoven piece filled with a multitude of well written images and connotations. Beautifully written!

  2. The power of emerging light transforms the world me knew., across the abyss those that fly have mastered worldly dues .
    The Valkyrie ride .

    Excellent poem Blueangelwolf

  3. Happy Prosperous New Year to you 🙂

  4. what dark unreal bullshit not the angel i ever me t:(

  5. This is one of my favorites among the many exceptional poetic expressions here. The rhyme and meter are compelling and I love how this poem contrasts so many of the others in your collection. There is an advantage to using poetic forms in certain circumstances, and you employ form here very well…

For the clarity of what we want
    Obscured by labyrinths of stone
A tiny creature we are thrown
Every act of choice a taunt

I noticed that you veered away from the form on this stanza, changing the rhyme scheme, and I thought it might be interesting to rearrange it in this way:

For the clarity of what we want
A tiny creature we are thrown
Every act of choice a taunt
    Obscured by labyrinths of stone

I enjoy visiting here and decided to follow to see where you will journey next.

    Warm regards…..John H.
